He reinvented Bond with his two Bourne movies, to the point that "Quantum of Solace" had shot for shot steals and employed so much shaky-not-stirred-cam that whole sequences were rendered incomprehensible. That is more incomprehensible that the writers’ strike had already rendered it. But beyond the documentary-inspired action scenes, Greengrass’ real talent is to create a real world in which to ground the super spy. It would be a fitting cap to Daniel Craig’s tenure to have the man who most influenced the direction the Craig-Bonds took to come in and take the reins.
