BADHAAI HO ENTERS RS 100 CRORE CLUB Badhaai Ho is the latest Bollywood film to cross the box office milestone of Rs 100 crore. The Amit Sharma-directed film is a comedy drama about a middle age couple, played by Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, facing unexpected pregnancy. Production banner Junglee Pictures took to Twitter to make the announcement as the film hit the mark at nett box office India collections. Badhaai Ho, for the last two-and-a-half weeks, exceeded every expectation and turned out be a huge hit thanks to positive critical reception and word-of-mouth promotion. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures. He wrote, “#BadhaaiHo remains UNSHAKABLE and UNSTOPPABLE even in Week 3… Crosses ₹ 💯 cr on Day 17… [Week 3] Fri 2.35 cr, Sat 3.50 cr. Total: ₹ 100.10 cr. India biz.”
AKSHAY KUMAR SIGNS 3-FILM DEAL WITH FOX STAR STUDIOS Akshay Kumar has signed a three-film deal with Fox Star Studios. The first film which will be jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and Cape Of Good Films is Mission Mangal. Made in collaboration with R Balki and helmed by Jagan Shakti, the shooting of Mission Mangal will commence from mid-November. Post 2.0 and Housefull 4, Akshay Kumar is all set to work as a lead in three movies. These films will be jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and Cape Of Good Hope Films. The first film to be made under this partnership will be the space film Mission Mangal where he collaborates with filmmaker R Balki once again after Padman. The movie will be directed by Jagan Shakti and it is set to go on floors mid November. Commenting on this association, Akshay says, “I am delighted to find a new creative partner in Fox Star Studios and am looking forward to creating a collaboration that will deliver a meaningful and entertaining cinematic experience. With our combined energies, we hope to create content that not only excites but also empowers.”
SHAH RUKH KHAN’S CRAZY FAN SLASHES HIMSELF OUTSIDE MANNAT A crazy fan of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan hurt himself with a blade outside his bungalow Mannat in Mumbai on Sunday evening. The fan, who goes by the name Mohammad Salim, is from Kolkata and came to Mumbai to meet his favourite star. If latest reports are to be believed, Mohammad was immediately taken to the hospital. Soon after receiving the treatment, he was discharged. A video of the fan has emerged online wherein he can be seen being dragged away by the police. He can be seen shouting, “Shah Rukh sir, Shah Rukh sir” even as the cops continue doing their job matter-of-factly. It has been reported that after this incident, no fan of the superstar was allowed nearby Mannat.
