HOT CORN TV | “The arts get us out of the darkness” – Denise Gough on Colette

We met the talented Irish actress in Toronto to discuss this excellent period drama

It was a while back when we saw Colette – starring Keira Knightley and Denise Gough and yet the impression made was indelible. The same can be said of our time spent interviewing the latter, who we caught up with at the Toronto film festival. She discusses with us her own personal relationship with the Claudine books, and how essential it is we tell stories of this nature through cinema. She also discusses the pressure of playing a real person (she’s playing the character Missy) and also comments on the MeToo movement, and how she feels Hollywood has changed – if at all – in the wake of the Weinstein scandal.

Colette is released on January 9th
