Bollywood: Baaghi 2 box office collection crosses INR 135 crore

After its successful first instalment, the makers of Baaghi have hit the right chord with the second film

Tiger Shroff is back with the sequel to his hit 2016 film Baaghi and has made a mark at the box-office instantly. The romantic-action film Baaghi 2 which is helmed by Ahmed Khan even shattered the records of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion in regional areas but has been on a juggernaut run at the ticket window. Baaghi 2 is an Indian action thriller film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and directed by Ahmed Khan. The film stars Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani. It is a sequel to the 2016 film Baaghi and a remake of 2016 Telugu movie Kshanam.

Baaghi 2 entered the Rs 100 crore club within a week. The movie has reprised new versions of iconic songs like ‘Mundiyan To Bach Ke Rahi’ and ‘Ek Do Teen‘. Tiger Shroff has delivered a gold mine to the filmmakers. His essaying the role of a muscle-bound action hero has grabbed the attention of the viewers and they are trooping in to cinemas without let up even aftyer the first week is over. In fact, Baaghi box office collection over the second weekend has soared as high as Rs 22.50 cr and that too from just 3000 screens.

If readers recall, the original screen count for Baaghi 2 on release was 3500 screens in domestic market and even though this has reduced, the collection of the movie is still powering on to new highs. The movie had released in 625 screens overseas. Baaghi 2 box office collection now has reached Rs 135.35 crore mark. In the first 7 days, the movie collection had reached Rs 112.85 crore, 18 millions in US dollars. Irrfan Khan starrer Blackmail released last Friday and it has taken some attention away from this Tiger Shroff starrer. However, the effect is not going to impact Baaghi 2 box office collection too much and that is already being seen – after all the second weekend has been massive for the movie.
